Lewis County Trail System
ATV clubs in Lewis, Oswego, Jefferson, St. Lawrence and Northern Onieda Counties have combined into a group known as the Tughill / Adirondack ATV Association. This association has proposed a new trail pass system which they plan to implement May 1 2009. Currently, only Lewis Co. will require a permit, however the other counties listed will follow suite soon. It will cost $40.00 per machine if a member of a club in the above counties, $80.00 if you are not. These passes are not the same as the old Trail Pass Inc. system from a couple of years ago nor is this system affiliated with NYSORVA or NYstate. This is their own deal.
Accordng to the information available a the above noted link, violations will carry a hefty fine. In addition to a fine, a second violation will result in being suspended from using the trail system entirely.
